Kim left a couple of comments that were stuck in the moderation queue, so I didn’t see them until we were done with dinner. I put that static IP address on my keywords list for automatic moderation, when Nicky tried to use my comments area to post people’s addresses and phone numbers.
Anyway, they cut his phone line about an hour and a half ago. I’m glad to see that someone’s taking his antics seriously, instead of taking his delusional ravings at face the value, the way most of his family has for years. I know of more than one person who received a chewing out from Nicky’s mother and/or grandmother over the phone about four years ago.
Kim
Well wow, I have tried to be nice and allow him some form of communication and that wasn’t a good idea. I am now pulling his line. I had a talk with him last night and told him to stop the swearing, harrassment and threats and demanded he change around an article so that none of that nonesense was in it. He told me he did and today I see more of his behavior. I am counting the days until Tuesday, right now all I can do is have him evaluated for a stay in a place where he can get 24/7 help and supervision. I am trying the best I can, and he keeps fighting me at every turn. Once again, I apologize for his behavior.
He really does need full time supervision, especially given his habit of hopping on the internet to spew his filthy lies in the wee hours of the morning while the rest of the household is asleep.
Kim
Nick’s line has offcially been pulled and cut in half as of 6:30 cst. 50footant as bad as this may sound, if you feel what he has said as far as threatening your family, please call the local law enforcement here, I can’t accept behavior of threats to a family and I do take that seriously. It might sound bad on my part saying go ahead and call on a family member but that is serious to me and I apologize, but I do believe that situation needs the laws authority.
It’s unfortunate, but when people have called the Morris PD in the past to report his threats, the cops haven’t taken it seriously. They may stop by the house to make sure he’s taking his meds, but that’s about it.
Best of luck on Tuesday, Kim.

Oh, Kim. If you’re reading this: You are a wonderful woman. It sounds like you have a lot of hard work ahead of you, but I think it will all turn out for the best.
Take care, Kim. It can’t be an easy road, after he’s gotten away with these antics so far, but you do sound vigilant, and I sure wish you all the best.

I no longer worry about using my real first name. Best of luck, Kim. I hope everything goes as smoothly as it can do. Please do keep us updated.
Does anyone else have the feeling of coming to the end of a strange era in Internet history?
The titles of these last couple threads always stun me when I first open the Nail, as I jump back and say “I did? How?!” But good luck to her.
KP,
We all know you possess supernatural abilities!
and Kim, thank you for all you’re doing.
What’s that wonderful sound? The sound of silence. Good luck on Tuesday Kim and thanks for a wee bit of peace and quiet at least.
If we are, it’s been years in the making. If Kim’s successful with Tuesday’s appointment for Nicky, she’s awesome.
I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that he’ll just get stuck in a mental health ward in a hospital somewhere for a few weeks until he gets stabilized on his meds, then released. It’s not that easy to get someone placed in a long-term psychiatric facility.
Does anyone else find it amusing that WordPress generated so many pink and purple avatars for my male readers?
Hopefully, Nick will go from hospital to halfway house to group home, or some variation thereof, and stay there indefinitely. If his real diagnosis is, as I fear, some sort of organic brain disorder along the lines of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, that’s about the best that can be done for him.
Best of luck, Kim! That was an awesome act when you actually cut his phone line in half.
Hopefully, Nicky didn’t go ballistic when that happened.
Can’t wait to see what happens on Tuesday!
I’d be grateful if he’s calmed down until after Christmas at least as there’s just too much to do this month.
Kim, I hope things go well, and that Nicky gets the help and medication he needs stabilize. You’ve shown superhuman strength these past few days — keep it up.
I do hope this is it. I’m one of the lucky ones, that I didn’t hit his radar until this year. I repeatedly tell myself and others I’m not sure if I’d have been able to handle him, when all this started so long ago.
I honestly don’t know how the rest of you have done it, without going completely wiggy yourselves.
Kim, again I express my best wishes for Tuesday, and your own wellbeing within your family afterwards. I do sincerely hope you get him help, manage to keep him from his destructive behaviours and help the world become a better place to be.
Excellent news, Kim. Thank you! At least we will be afforded some peace and quiet for a little while anyway.
I wish you nothing but good luck in dealing with this Kim. I hope everything turns out alright, and that nick gets the help he needs.
Best of luck on Tuesday, Kim. Hope he didn’t go ballistic on you. You’re very brave to be taking this step.
If his phone line was cut, then how did he post this last night? http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1275462/haunted_by_the_stigma.html?cat=49
That article was posted in the wee hours of the morning on the 6th. It got 18 or so comments before Nicky logged in yesterday afternoon, and deleted them. His phone line wasn’t cut until around dinner time last night.
Five more comments were added after the wholesale deletion; Mike’s is the only new one since the line was cut.
I find the comments interesting. It seems that Nicky is the usual cretin.
When confronted about something he has done he tells her he has changed it but doesn’t.
He seems incapable of standing up to anyone, just dishing out shit from a safe distance.
Apart from the death threats, would be great to let Mike and Kim and others know of the times he has robbed young authors. It shows what a real problem he has been.
Also, isn’t purple a manly colour?
Shit, I’m pink. Thought I was purple.
Ah well, not like it’s the first time.
I really hope Nick gets the help he needs. I have to agree with Rusty, they will probably stablize him on his meds, send him home and it will start all over again. Kim is very strong to do this for Nick, he really does need the help.
CritGrit–You know there are a lot of nice things that are—pink. Just think about it! hahaha
Yeah . . . like Pepto Bismol.
Look at it this way, CritGit — you have a nice set of fangs.
I do like the fangs. I look like a blind vampire from a geometry nightmare!
Pink. Hmmm. The Pink Panther, Bagpuss, Majin Buu, Miss Piggy, Pigs in Space, guts in zombie movies.
Yup, lots of good things.
Good luck on Tuesday Kim. You’re a saint.
Don’t forget pink lemonaid! Or is it lemonade? I can never remember.
Kim;
Good luck with Nikki. I know what you are about to go through. My brother came home for the war about 2 years ago, and I had to put him back together.
I hope that it works out well for you, and believe it or not, I actually hope that it works out for Nikki.
If you want advice, encouragement, or just support, feel free to email me.
Wow, Kim.
I hope Nick didn’t go too ballistic when he found out. I hope that your influence in Nick’s life continues. It’s been clear for several years that someone needed to step up to the plate and rein Nick in. I’m glad you’re trying and I hope the rest of your campaign to help him ends up going well.
