ETT has received a review of Pacione’s short story, I.O.W.A., and was wondering whether it was alright to post it, since the story’s not yet been released. I don’t see why excerpts can’t be used, simply based on the logic that it’s fairly common for book reviewers to get advanced copies and movie critics see movie screenings pre-release. Generally, movie studios want the reviews out pre-release to generate buzz, unless the film is looking like a dud.
The reviewer emailed ETT the review, which sort of implies permission, if not to do a full reprint, then at least to use parts of it. It wouldn’t surprise me if the person who wrote it said something along the lines of “feel free to use what you want from it.”
We know Nicky’s already announced on his DeviantArt journal that the story is finished. If I recall correctly, he said in a video what it stands for, but I keep thinking of it as “I Owe Writers Anthologies.” I’m pretty sure that he still owes people contributor copies, if not actual money.
Anyway, I look forward to reading about I.O.W.A. It should be good for a chuckle, or four.

Hey Bitch — I.O.W.A. isn’t the one that’s finished and I am not about to let that story go for free you fucking brother snorter. Don’t you have anything better to do than go into movie theaters with a video camera? Mother fucker, I hope your house is burned down over this one. I worked very hard to write I.O.W.A. and it isn’t the story that is finished. You promote piracy and I am guessing you watch pirated movies too.
What right do you fucking have in stealing a story that isn’t even in circulation yet. Give it a chance to get published you fucking whore. Go back to what you know best such as snorting your dead brother’s ashes.
That story is off limits, let the story get published then you can pick on it like some gutless shitsucker.
Rusty is not ETT, you’re mouthing off at the wrong person, Peaches.
Look, Nicky. You have a reading comprehension problem. I don’t have a copy of I.O.W.A., nor do I have a copy of the review of it.
Wait until the review comes out, or parts of it, on ETT, and go over there to bitch about it. Unless you see something happen here, don’t bitch to me about it.
Now wipe your nose, and get yourself another slice of pizza.
I don’t watch movies very often, on tv, in the theater, or on rented DVD. The last movie I watched was the final one in the LotR trilogy. It’s not worth the cost of even an $8.50 Saturday matinee to see 90+% of the stuff that makes it to theaters, as very little of it interests me.
You’re guessing wrong, fucktard — again. You’re projecting your own faults onto others to make yourself feel better about being a grade-A moron. Your own business ethics are nonexistent (trying to get people fired, ruin their careers, interstate fraud, etc.), so don’t even try to take the high road with me.
I don’t see what Nicky’s problem is. ETT would only be posting a pre-publication review of a story. Pre-publication reviews happen all the time, and are generally thought of as a good thing.
If anybody wants to post early reviews of any of my work, I’m more than happy to see them.
Aww Rusty, Nicky’s just a victim, he’s only trying to….no wait he is a fucktard. I couldn’t even finish typing that with a straight face.
And I got another lovely email from him today about a comment I made on youtube about 3 weeks ago. *sigh*
No one ever accused Nicky of being literate… or logical.
A review, given by the reviewer, freely, to be shown.
Get it? Not your story. Not your permission. Not needed.
Go shit down your own neck.
The movie theater/video camera seems to be Nicky’s analogy of the month. He accused me of the same in a private message over at Shocklines after he got it in his head that I had pirated one of his steaming piles of suck.
The obvious difference that I see is the fact most movies actually make money, unlike his “books.” It’d argue it’s hard to steal something with no value, monetary, intellectual or otherwise.
The moron thinks posting a link to his sucktastic so-called fiction is piracy. That breed of idiocy marks what his fiction is worth, which is to say nothing.
The movie analogy seems to be Nicky’s latest obsession. He accused me of the same thing over at Deviantart.
Honestly, I don’t know if Nick “owes anthologies” to his contributors… was never even offered one.
NO anthology copy.
NO money.
NO contract.
But LOTS and LOTS of “guilt by association,” bad PR, and the nightmare of having to deal with trying to decipher what the fuck he is saying – whether it be via email, PM or the Unfortunate Phone Call.
BTW- Keep on eye on DA in the next few days.
That’s all I’m sayin’.
Whose DA?
I suppose I should keep an eye on his. From his main page, there’s a link to see his activity on DA. That often leads to other accounts where he drops his turds.
I agree with Adam and Janrae about how videotaping movies in the theater is his latest analogy. A long time ago, he was comparing himself to Metallica filing suit against Napster, which went over really well with a lot of people. /sarcasm
He got the idea from a Shocklines discussion about people being noisy in a theater. Apparently some no goodniks were talking during the movie and Nicky thought about telling the usher one of them had a camera.
After that, it’s all he’d talk about. He really has very little RAM capacity and whatever gets in his head stays there for a long time.
Time to clean out the cache Nickypoo.
