Goretastic Books; Horror for the 21st century!
Goretastis Books is proud to present GOREGASM a new e-zine for writers and readers like you, writers who have a taste for the dark and brutal nightmares that keep lesser people waking up screaming. We’re going to have our first issue by October (can you think of a better month!!) and we need YOUR work. Here are ourguidelines: We pay $5 for good DARK HORROR stories between 500-25,000 words. The best stories each issue may get extra bonus money ($25) and writers will have the chance to be in our special print anthology too. We want stories that *push the LIMITS of horror, if it’s to extreme for Cemetery Dance, we want it. Stephen King, Cluve Barker, Brently Little, they have all had there day in the sun. It’s time for new blood that explores the extremes of where an story can go. *are good old-fashioned STORIES. No “flowery language” and we don’t want our readers running for the directory everytime the writer opens his mouth *No 1st person stories. Then we know that the character is going to live and the story is ruined for everyone. * traditional monters are GREAT! We want vampires (but no whiny goths with fluffy sleeves), zombies (FAST or SLOW) werewolves (REAL werewolves, not pack animals sniffing each other butts), mummies, serial killers and everything you can think of except for ghosts. Ghosts stories are not horror. *No sci-fi, no romance, no political content (e.g., pro-gay stories where it is shoved down your throat, stories where the point is “molesting children is bad”). There will be a chance for horrorrotica in our sister magazine BLOODY PANTIES, but we are still working on guidelines for that one. Send us your best stuff and we can not only get you the exposure of the whole Internet, but real cold hard cash and a PDF copy of GOREGASM. Don’t be shy! I am still amazed that Dagstine thought he deserved a Hugo award.
Interestingly, several of the authors in that issue with him are people whose stories I rejected for my anthology.
Dickstine never came close to a nomination.
And never will.
The person behind this is trying too hard. I suspect it wasn’t posted on April 1 because that would have been too obvious. I also suspect that the reason for the two edits in this reply was to further screw up the spelling.

I don’t appreciate all the sarcasm and stuff. We are just starting out just like so many others have started out. As writers, you should support the small press, so I’m not sure where this negativity is coming from. if you don’t want to submit, you don’t have to. But there are plenty of new writers who will. All they want is a chance and we are giving them that.
If we were doing something wrong or harmful to writers, then I’m sure the moderator here wouldn’t let it stand. Its not like we aren’t paying. We are it’s just what we can afford. I would have expected this reaction from people like Mamtas, Keen, or Leboon, but I did not expect it from others here. Everybody starts out somewhere. So are we and we’re offering new authors a chance to grow with us.

I would also like to point out that as a fan of splatter, one of the few, that splatter is also not horror.
And here we go with attacking the pros again too. *sighs* Since when did young writers think it so cool to bash Mamatas, Keene (which he didn’t even spell correctly), and Lebbon? Note to new writers — these guys worked damn hard to get to where they have gotten. Show them some respect, for cripes’ sake. You are harming writers if you expect them to take $5 dollars for a 5000 word story. It’s called underpaying for creative property, and it stinks.
