This is the freebie short story by Tina Connolly that I received from Issue 2 for registering at GUD Magazine’s website. I’ve purchased Issues 0 and 1, so the prospect of receiving a freebie from Issue 2 was enough to suck me into registering.
Ms. Connolly weaves a nifty sci-fi story that involves short, rotund pink aliens with jelly bellies, and a woman named Allison who gets sexual pleasure from the taste of her partners. The aliens go door-to-door attempting to convert the humans to their “religion,” much as Mormon or Moonie missionaries do.
Without wishing to give too much away about the story itself, I anticipated a “twist” at the end, but it was not what I expected.
Overall, I found the story to be an enjoyable read, but not a riveting one. The characters were believable, the aliens cute, and the descriptions of the taste of Allison’s lovers amusing.
